At times, certain outcomes convey more meaning than a thousand words.
This is the situation with Silfas, a prominent company specializing in the production of mechanical components via hot stamping, which selected us to enhance its thermal storage system.
Silfas objective was to RECOVER ENERGY from the hot stamping production process, during which products are heated to 1200°C and subsequently cooled. How can we reclaim energy from the hot stamping process that would otherwise be wasted?
The adopted solution involved the implementation of thermal batteries that utilize phase change materials (PCM) to capture heat from the products exiting the molding process, subsequently repurposing it for various applications, including tool heating, air conditioning systems, or as a baseload for a high-temperature heat pump.
